D6R Series III Production Issue PIP Rework ProceduresGROUP 1 - BOLT LENGTH TOO LONG ON IMPLEMENTPUMP TUBE ASSEMBLYProblem Description: The bolts, which holdthe Tube As. 226-6586 to the implement pump inlet are too long. The longerbolts may cause air to be sucked into the pump, which may cause leakingor cavitation.1. Lower the rear most belly pan from the bottomof the tractor.2. On the bottom of the implement/steeringpump, locate the four bolts holding the 226-6586 Tube As. to the implementpump inlet.3. Remove and replace one bolt at a timea. Replace 8T-4184 (45mm Bolt) and 8T-4223(Washer) with 8T-4183 (40mm Bolt) and 8T-5360 (Washer). Torque bolts to100+/-20 N.m.b. Replace 8T-4176 (90mm Bolt) and 8T-4223(Washer) with 8T-6868 (80mm Bolt) and 8T-5360 (Washer). Torque bolts to100+/-20 N.m.Note: After removing each bolt, inspect thethreads for damage. If damage is present, use a "long shank M12X1.75 tap"to clean the threads. 4. Install the rear most belly panGROUP 2 - INADEQUATE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THETILT CYLINDER LINES GROUP AND THE RADIATOR BOTTOM TANKProblem Description: Due to insufficient clearancebetween the tilt tubes, 226-7810 and 226-7924, and the bottom radiatortank, possible fouling of the tubes may occur.1. Open the radiator grill door located onthe front of the tractor.2. Locate p-clips 8T-1888 and 8T-1887 boltedto the boss on the front of the radiator tank.3. Remove bolt 8T-4195 from the p-clips. 4. Install washer 5P-1075 between the radiatortank boss and the p-clips.5. Install bolt 8T-4195. Torque the bolt to55+/-10 N.m. 6. Close the radiator grill door.GROUP 3 - FUEL PRIMER WIRING HARNESS IMPROPERLYSECUREDProblem Description: The primer switch assemblywire harness connector may be too tight against the air cleaner supportbracket edge. Also, the cable strap, which secures the wiring in place,may have been improperly installed around the exposed wires instead ofthe braided wires.1.
