1. Mark and identify all wires for installation purposes.2. Remove two nuts (1) from the electric starting motors. Disconnect four ground cable assemblies (2).3. Remove the protective cover and the nut that holds positive cable assembly (3) and the wire assembly to the electric starting motor. Disconnect positive cable assembly (3) and the wire assembly from the electric starting motor.4. Remove nut (5) that holds the wire assembly to the electric starting motor. Disconnect the wire assembly from the electric starting motor.5. Remove three 12 point head bolts (4) that hold the electric starting motor. Using two people, remove the electric starting motor and the gasket. The weight of the starting motor is 36 kg (80 lb).6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 to remove the remaining electric starting motor. The following steps are for the installation of the electric starting motors. 7. Using two people, put the electric starting motor and the gasket in position on the machine.8. Install three 12 point head bolts (4).9. Put the wire assembly in position on the electric starting motor, and install nut (5). Tighten nut (5) to a maximum torque of 2.25 0.25 N m (20 2 lb in).10. Put cable assembly (3) and the wire assembly in position on the electric starting motor, and install the nut. Tighten the nut to a maximum torque of 30 4 N m (22 3 lb ft). Put protective cover in position over the nut.11. Repeat steps 7 through 10 for the remaining electric starting motor.12. Put four ground cable assemblies (2) in position on the electric starting motors, and install two nuts (1). Tighten nuts (1) to a maximum torque of 30 4 N m (22 3 lb ft).
