910, 931 LoadersDescription of Change: The basic governor group for engines in the above models is changed to permit better accuracy when fuel rack settings are made. A new bumper spring is used on the full load stop bolt, between the stop collar on the bolt and the governor housing. With the new spring, the spring collar is removed from between the spring and the stop collar on the bolt. Removal of the spring collar will prevent possible compression of the spring to a solid condition during the procedure to make a rack setting adjustment. Formerly, if the spring became solid before the fuel rack was moved all the way to its zero position, it was not possible to correctly adjust the dial indicator for the rack position. This caused wrong rack settngs to be made.Adaptable As: Direct replacement. The recommendation is to install the new 3P131 Spring in place of the former 2S7235 Spring and 2S7289 Collar any time service work is done in the area.
