Location of the RelaysThe relay for the brake light is located in the compartment behind the operator station.The relay is an output of the ECM. The relay is designed to energize the brake lamps. The following components will activate the relay: the service brake pedal, the ARC and the manual retarder. The relay has a resistance of approximately 360Ohms at 25 °C (77 °F).The relay receives power from connector J2-40 of the ECM. The return circuit of the relay connects to contact J2-36 of the ECM.The ECM determines that a diagnostic code is present when one of the following conditions are present:
Open circuit
Short to ground
Short to + battery
