To prevent possible personal injury, do not disconnect any hydraulic lines until all hydraulic pressure has been released from the system.
6. Put identification marks on two hoses (11), and remove them from the rod end of the cylinder. 7. Remove two bolts (12) and bar (13). Use a hammer and punch to push pin (14) out of the rod end of the cylinder and frame. 8. The weight of the hoist cylinder is 167 kg (370 lb). Remove the hoist cylinder from the truck.Install Hoist Cylinders
1. Fasten a hoist to the hoist lift cylinder, and put the cylinder in position so pin (1) can be installed in the rod end of the cylinder and the frame. Install the pin so the groove (slot) in the pin is toward the inside of the truck. Install bar (3) in the pin groove (slot). Fasten the bar to the frame with two bolts (2) and lockwashers. 2. Inspect the O-ring seals on hoses (4), and make replacements if necessary. Install the hoses on the rod end of the cylinder. 3. Put the cylinder end of the hoist cylinder in position in the body. Install pin (5) so the groove (slot) in the pin is toward the inside of the body. Install the bar in the pin groove (slot). 4. Fasten bar (7) to the frame with two bolts and lockwashers. Install hoses (6) on the cylinder. Fasten the hose clip to the body with a bolt (8) and lockwasher. 5. Install hoist control linkage rod (9) on lever (10) with a nut and lockwasher. 6. Remove two pins (11) that hold the body in the "up" position.7. Lift and lower body several times to remove air from the hoist system. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level. Start By:a. remove hoist cylinders Make sure all of the oil is removed from the cylinder before it is disassembled. The cylinder shown is typical of the hoist cylinders. The procedure for disassembly is the same. 1. Put the cylinder in position on tool (A). 2. Remove the eight bolts and lockwashers from the head, and pull the head end of the hoist cylinder until there is enough room to install blocks between rod assembly (1) (second stage) and the cylinder (first stage).3. Install the blocks as shown. 4. Install 3/4 "-10 NC bolts in the head end of the hoist cylinder, and push head (2) on the rod assembly. 5. Pull the end of hoist cylinder (4) off of cylinder (3) (first stage). Remove cylinder (4) from tool (A). 6. Use tool (A) to push cylinder (3) on to rod assembly (1). 7. Remove ring (5) from the end of the cylinder.
Typical Example Make sure the cylinder is pushed far enough on the rod assembly so bolts (7) can be removed.8. Remove four bolts (7) from piston (6). 9. Pull cylinder (3) off of rod assembly (1), and remove head (2).
