This procedure provides a method of testing the machine shift solenoid. If the shift solenoid is not functioning properly, the machine speed will be incorrect in either "Pave" or "Travel" mode.Test Preparation
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (4) to the NEUTRAL position.
Press parking brake switch (3) in order to change the status of the parking brake to "engaged". When the parking brake status is "engaged", an LED next to the parking brake switch will be illuminated.
Use travel mode switch (2) to select the PAVE mode. When the travel mode switch is set to PAVE mode, an LED next to pave symbol (1) will be illuminated. Note: The machine must be in PAVE mode in order to operate the screed lift system, hopper system, apron system and auger lift system.

Press screed raise switch (5) to lift the screed. Completely raise the screed.

Engage screed service lock mechanism (6) on both sides of the machine.

Use screed float switch (7) to place the screed in the FLOAT position. When the screed is in the FLOAT position, an LED next to the screed float switch will illuminate. Allow the tow arms to rest on screed service locks (6). Test Procedure

Rotate speed dial (9) until the target speed on the display stops increasing.
Press parking brake switch (3) in order to change the status of the parking brake to "disengaged".
Press rpm increase switch (8) on the throttle control in order to place the engine in high idle. The engine speed should increase to 2200 rpm.

Squeeze trigger (10), and move propel lever (4) to the FULL FORWARD position. Monitor the machine speed on the operator display.
Move propel lever (4) to the NEUTRAL position.

Use travel mode switch (2) to select the TRAVEL mode. When the travel mode switch is set to TRAVEL mode, an LED next to travel symbol (11) will be illuminated.
Rotate speed dial (9) until the target speed stops increasing.
Squeeze trigger (10), and move propel lever (4) to the FULL FORWARD position. Machine speed should increase significantly beyond the speed observed in Step 4. If the machine speed does not change speed, go to "Adjustment Procedure".
Move propel lever (4) to the NEUTRAL position.
Use travel mode switch (2) to select the PAVE mode. Note: When the travel mode switch is in the PAVE position, an LED next to pave symbol (1) will be illuminated.

Press rpm decrease switch (13) on the throttle control once in order to operate the engine in low idle.

Shut off the engine. Either place machine power switch (14) in the OFF position or press and hold push to start switch (12) for 3 seconds. An LED next to the push to start switch will flash when the engine is in shutdown mode. Note: The engine may run for several minutes when
