Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Open the left side access door. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Open hood assembly (1).
Remove two bolts (2) and the two washers. Open engine access door (3).
Remove the belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Belt - Remove and Install".

Loosen the two clamps and remove tube (4).
Remove the nut and cable assembly (6) from alternator (5).
Remove the nut and wire assembly (8) from alternator (5).
Remove the nut and ground cable (7) from alternator (5).
Remove four bolts (9) and alternator (5). Installation Procedure
Install alternator (5) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nut for wire assembly (8) to a torque of 4 1 N m (35 9 lb in).
Tighten the nut for cable assembly (6) to a torque of 15 3 N m (133 27 lb in).
