Start By:a. remove control panel enclosure 1. Install tool (A) to support the engine when the generator is removed. Remove grounding strap (1). 2. Remove bolt (2) and guards (3). Place shims (4) between rotor and stator to prevent rotor from touching stator when the generator is removed from the engine. 3. Place two slings around the generator and remove bolts (6) and two bolts (5). Remove the generator. The weight of the generator is 518kg (1140 lb). 4. Remove six bolts (7) and plate (8). The following steps are to connect the generator.5. Attach plate (8) to generator with six bolts (7).6. Lift generator with slings and position to engine. Attach with bolts (6) and install two bolts (5) to attach generator to base.7. Remove shims (4) from between rotor and stator. Install guards (3) and attach wiring harness with bolt (2).8. Connect grounding strap (1) and remove tooling (A).
