1. Remove two bolts (2) and bracket assembly (1). 2. Remove nut (3), spacer (4) and roller (5) from the bracket. 3. Lift lever (6), and move the steering column away from the instrument panel.4. Disconnect spring (8) from lever (6).5. Remove locknut (9), spacer (10), shims (7) and lever (6). 6. Remove bearing (11) from lever (6).Install Steering Column Adjuster
1. Use tooling (A), and install bearing (1) in lever (2). 2. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease on bearing (1) in lever (2). Add or remove the shims until there is no fore or aft movement (end play) in lever (2) and the lever moves freely.3. Install lever (2), shims (3), spacer (6) and locknut (5).4. Connect spring (4) to lever (2). 5. Install roller (9), spacer (10) and nut (7) on bracket (8). Tighten the nut to a torque of 9 3 N m (80 27 lb.in.). 6. Move the steering column toward the instrument panel until lever (2) engages with bracket (11).7. Put bracket (8) in position, and install the two bolts that hold it in place.
