When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

Install retaining ring (16), bearings (13), spacer (14), and shaft (17) into gear (15). Install retaining ring (12).

Install gear assembly (11). Install bolt (10).

Use Tooling (F) in order to Install bearing cup (9).

Use Tooling (E) and a suitable press in order to install bearing (8). Repeat for the opposite side.

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to Install bearing cup (7) into flange (2).

Install gear assembly (5), shims (6), and adapter (2).
Use Tooling (G) to measure the end play of gear assembly (5). Use shims (6) as needed to obtain an end play measurement of 0.10 mm (0.004 inch) to 0.20 mm (0.008 inch).

Install bolts (3) and plate (4).
Install bolts (1) and adapter (2). End By:
Install the gear pump.
Connect the transmission and torque converter.
