Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Raise hood (1) by activating switch (2) .

Install hood support (3) .

Remove panel (4) .

Disconnect hose (5) from housing (12). Loosen clamp (10) and disconnect hose (11) .
Disconnect hose (6) .
Remove bolts (8), bolts (9), and nut (7). Remove housing (12) .

Remove temperature regulators (16) from housing (12). Remove gaskets (14) and (15). Remove plug (13) and plugs (17) .Installation Procedure
Install temperature regulators (16) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 50 9 N m (37 7 lb ft).
Tighten clamp (10) to a torque of 9 3 N m (80 27 lb in).
