Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized, even with hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
1. From underneath the machine, loosen lock nut (1) and screw adjusting screw (2) clockwise into the valve as far as possible to relieve hydraulic pressure from the cylinder. Make a note of the number of turns required to relieve pressure. This figure will be required for installation of the lock valve. 2. Remove four bolts (3), washers (4) and remove lock valve (5).3. Remove one O-ring seal (6) and two O-ring seals (7) from lock valve (5).Boom Raise Cylinder Lock Valve - Install
1. Lightly lubricate O-ring seals (7) and (6) with 1U-6395 Assembly Compound and install on lock valve face (5). 2. Install lock valve (5) to the cylinder and secure with four bolts (3) and washers (4).3. Screw the adjusting screw (2) counter clockwise by the number of turns noted in the removal procedure and lock in position with lock nut (1).4. With the parking brake engaged and the transmission control in NEUTRAL, start the engine and operate the boom from fully lowered to fully raised several times to bleed the valve. Lower the boom and stop the engine.Boom Raise Cylinder Lock Valve - Disassemble
1. Unscrew and remove couterbalance valve (1) from valve body (2).2. Remove three O-ring seals (3), (4) and (5) from the valve body.Boom Raise Cylinder Lock Valve - Assemble
Prior to assembly ensure all components are clean. Precision fitted components will be damaged by foreign material.
1. Lubricate three O-ring seals (5), (4) and (3) with clean hydraulic oil and assemble them to the valve body (1).2. Install counterbalance valve into valve body (2) and tighten to a torque setting of 65 N m (48 lb.ft).
