Machine ECM Event Code List
The following table lists the event codes that apply to the Machine control system. The recommended response is listed. Use Cat®ET to determine if the event codes are active or logged. The active and logged event codes are also displayed on the LCD of the gauge cluster. Buttons to the right of the display can be used to navigate the list of diagnostic and event code, both active and logged, for the machine.
Table 3
Event Codes For Machine ECM (MID 39)
EID (Level) Description Possible Cause or Recommended Response
E153 (3) High Speed Directional Shift Immediate, Safe Machine Shutdown Required.
Probable Cause: Ground speed is greater than second gear AND a shift from FORWARD to REVERSE or REVERSE to FORWARD or a shift out of NEUTRAL is requested.
Recommended Actions: Apply the brake to reduce machine speed before making a directional change. Attempt to shift machine when the gear setting is lower than second gear.
E232 (2) High Fuel/Water Separator Water Level Probable Cause: Water level in the separator has exceeded the acceptable limit. Indicator light on "Four Gauge Cluster" will illuminate and operator will be alerted by a “double chime”.
Recommended Actions: Drain water from the water separator. Check installation setting of the water separator level switch.
E282 (2) Implement Hydraulic Oil Filter Restricted Probable Cause: The pressure switch at the filter is indicating a blocked filter for more than 30 seconds.
Recommended Actions: Replace the filter. After the filter is replaced, the event will be cleared when the hydraulic oil temperature is greater than 38° C (100° F) for more than 5 seconds.
E627 (2) Parking Brake Applied with Machine in Motion Probable Cause: Machine ground speed is greater than 1.5 km/h (0.9 mph) with parking brake engaged. This situation is commonly referred to as “Park Brake Drive-Through”. For more information on this condition refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU9215, "Braking System - Test".
Recommended Actions: Do not drive the vehicle through parking brake. (1) Stop the vehicle if the intent is to stop. (2) Disengage parking brake if the intent is to drive. If the event persists, check the troubleshooting information for the parking brake system.
E861 (1) Clock Manual Alignment Required Probable Cause: The ECM internal clock is too far out of alignment with the other control module clocks on the machine.
Recommended Actions: Use Cat®ET to align the clock with the other control modules
E875 (1) Low System Voltage Probable Cause: Event code is active when the
