Place drive chain assembly (17) on the sprocket.
Install the sprocket and drive chain assembly (16) onto the shaft.
Install hard washer (15) and bolt (14) to the shaft. Tighten the bolt.

The arrow shows the placement of the silicone gasket.
Apply a bead of 8T-9022 Silicone Gasket around the access holes in the machine frame. The sealant must be applied in a 0.3 cm (0.12 inch) to 0.4 cm (0.16 inch) wide continuous bead. Apply the sealant in order to cover the bolt holes.
Position access plate (13) to the access hole.
Install hard washers and four bolts (12) . Tighten the bolts.

Place two access plates (11) to the original position.
Install nine screws (10) to the two access plates. Tighten the screws.

The slack side of the drive chain is the top. The taut side of the chain is the bottom.
Place Tooling (A) between axle assemblies (9) .
Adjust Tooling (A) in order to achieve the proper tension of the drive chain.
Adjust the drive chain to 12.5 2.5 mm (0.50 0.09 inch) of free movement on the slack side.Ensure that the drive chain is taut below the sprockets when you are measuring the amount of movement in the chain.
Tighten eight nuts (8) to 50 15 N m (37 11 lb ft) in the pattern that is shown in illustration 8. Tighten the nuts to a torque 50 15 N m (37 11 lb ft) again. Use the same tightening sequence.
Turn the nuts for another 90 degrees. Use a tolerance of five degrees. Use the same tightening sequence.
Remove Tooling (A) after the proper adjustment.

Install cover (6) to the tandem housing.
Install hard washers and ten bolts (5) to the cover. Tighten the bolts.
Remove magnetic plug (4) .
Refill the hydraulic oil into the tandem housing. Apply 169-5464 Quick Cure Primer prior to the pipe sealant. Apply 5P-3413 Pipe Sealant on the threads of magnetic plug (4) . Install magnetic plug (4) to the tandem housing.

Place governor cable (3) to the original position.
Install nut (2) . Tighten the nut.
Tighten the nut (1) .
Close the engine access door.
Repeat Step 1 through 25 in order to remove the remaining axles.
Install the drive chain tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7255, "Drive Chain Tension - Check/Adjust", Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7255, "Refill Capacities" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7255, "Lubricant Viscosities"., , End By:
Install the tire and rim. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove and Install".
Install the bank valve only for the right rear axle assembly for the 248 Skid Steer Loader. Refer to Disassembly and AssemblyRENR2891, "Bank Valve - Install".
Lower the cab. Refer to Disassembly and AssemblyRENR2891, "Cab - Tilt".
