EXCAVATOR,
Information:
1. Make matching scribe marks on plate (19), bearing housing (17), and the drum head on the propel side of the drum. 2. Remove the bolts and washers holding plate (19) in place. 3. Place three of the bolts and washers in the blind holes in plate (19).4. Turn the bolts in equally until plate (19) is free of the drum. 5. Remove the snap ring from the end of the weight shaft. 6. Slide the eccentric weight assembly out of bearing housing (17) and remove from drum. 7. Insert three of the bolts and washers, that held plate (19) and bearing housing (17) in place, into the blind holes in bearing housing (17).8. Turn the bolts in equally.
Heavy component. Avoid possible injury. Do not move prior to securely attaching a proper lifting device.
9. As soon as there is enough gap between the drum head and bearing housing (17) attach a hoist and chain to bearing housing (17). 10. Use the hoist to remove bearing housing (17). Set bearing housing on blocks, flange side up. The following steps apply to bearings (12) and (17).11. Rotate the inner race of the vibratory bearing (13) by hand. The race should rotate smoothly with no sign of binding.12. Examine bearing surfaces for scoring, gouging, or other signs of damage. 13. Insert a feeler gauge between the bearing rollers and the outer race, all the way through the bearing. Maximum allowed clearance is .08 to .10 mm (.003 to .004 in.).14. If the bearing is damaged, or if clearance exceeds maximum, the bearing should be replaced with a new part. 15. Attach an internal bearing puller to the bearing housing and vibratory bearing (13) as illustrated.16. Use the puller to remove vibratory bearing (13) from the bearing housing. If vibratory bearing condition will not permit removal by the above method, a torch may be used to cut the inner race and bearings. Weld a bead around the center of outer race. Pull outer race out of the bearing housing. 17. Examine the condition of eccentric weights (14). The eccentric weight should rotate freely on eccentric weight shaft (15) and be free of breaks or cracks.18. If it is necessary to remove the eccentric weights, slide them off the shaft.Assemble Inner Drum
1. Thoroughly clean bearing housings (12) and (17). 2. Make sure oil metering holes, on bearing housings (12) and (17) are clean and free of obstructions. 3. If vibratory bearings (13) were removed from bearing housing (12) and (17) during disassembly, press new bearings in place. 4. Remove the o-ring from bearing housing (17) and replace with a new part.5. Thoroughly clean the inside of the drum reservoir.
Heavy component. Avoid possible injury. Do not move prior to securely attaching a proper lifting device.
6. Attach a hoist and chain to bearing housing (18). 7. Using the hoist and chain move bearing housing (17) into position on the drum head. Align the scribe marks on bearing housing (17) and the drum head. Draw bearing
