Section A-A (1) Outer bearing (2) Inner bearingWhen you assemble outer bearing (1) and inner bearing (2) for the input shaft, pack the bearings with 2S-3230 Bearing Lubricant. The bearing lubricant should be packed between the inner race and the bearing cage and packed around the rollers.The 2S-3230 Bearing Lubricant will provide the necessary lubricant at initial start-up in order to allow the bearings to break-in and in order to avoid failure of the bearings.Caterpillar recommends running the machine at low speed with a low load for the first couple of hours after assembling the center differential in order to help outer bearing (1) and inner bearing (2) break-in slowly.
