Introduction
This Special Instruction contains information on installing a 323-1170 Track Idler Gp . The 323-1170 Track Idler Gp has been installed starting with the following machines with a SystemOne undercarriage from the factory:

Remove all existing top and bottom bolt-on scraper plates. These plates will be reused after modifications have been made to the track roller frame. The top scraper plates will need to be modified before reinstallation, but the bottom scrapers do not require any modification.

Cut existing weld-on top idler guard. Refer to Illustration 2 for the dimensions in order to cut the idler guard. This modification should be done to both the front top idler and the rear top idler guards to provide clearance for the new idlers.

Cut existing weld-on bottom idler guards. Refer to Illustration 3 for the dimensions in order to cut the idler guard. This modification should be done on both the front bottom idler and rear bottom idler guards in order to provide clearance for the new idlers.

Cut the existing bolt-on top idler scrapers. Refer to Illustration 4 for the dimensions in order to cut the idler scrapers.
Install the new idlers. Torque the idler cap bolts to 570 80 N m (420 59 lb ft).
Reinstall all top and bottom bolt-on scraper plates. Adjust all scraper plates to within 2 mm (0.079 inch) of the idler surface.
