1. Remove four bolts (1) and the washers that hold rear drive shaft lower guard (2) to the rear frame. Remove rear drive shaft lower guard (2). 2. Remove eight bolts (4) that hold rear drive shaft (6) to yoke assemblies (3) and (5).3. Slide yoke assembly (3) towards the rear axle assembly so that enough clearance is provided for the removal of rear drive shaft (6).4. Use two persons to carefully remove rear drive shaft (6). The weight of the rear drive shaft is 30 kg (66 lb).Installation Procedure
When the rear drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the rear axle assembly yoke. The rear drive shaft must be installed in phase with the center, upper and front drive shafts. Serious component damage could occur. Be certain that all the joint groups, all the yokes and all the lubrication fittings are aligned.For the correct drive shaft alignment procedure refer to Specifications, "Drive Shaft Group" for the machine that is being serviced.
1. Slide yoke assembly (3) toward the rear axle assembly so that enough clearance is provided for the installation of rear drive shaft (6).2. Use two persons to carefully install rear drive shaft (6). The weight of the rear drive shaft is 30 kg (66 lb).3. Slide yoke assembly (3) toward the rear drive shaft so that rear drive shaft (6) is properly located.4. Install eight bolts (4) that hold rear drive shaft (6) to yoke assemblies (3) and (5). Tighten the bolts evenly to a torque of 160 15 N (120 11 lb ft). 5. Put rear drive shaft lower guard (2) in position on the rear frame, as shown. Install four bolts (1) and the washers that hold rear drive shaft lower guard (2) to the rear frame.6. Lubricate the rear drive shaft.
