The new cap is less prone to leakage. The cap is easier to remove and comes with vandalism protection.Adaptable To: The new 7X7700 Fuel Cap Assembly replaces the former 9G6082 Fuel Cap Assembly; 5G3612, 9G8847 Protection Cap Groups and 4B5441, 3M1588 Fuel Tank Filler Cap Assemblies. The new fuel cap is adaptable to earlier machines that use the above caps. A 9X2207 Adapter Kit will be need to attach the new cap to the fuel tank filler tube. The Reference provides the information to install the new fuel cap assembly.
This new fuel cap assembly may be adapted to other earlier machines using the former fuel caps if there is sufficient clearance and the fuel tank has a steel filler neck.A 9X2205 Fuel Cap Filter Kit (Vent), which uses a replaceable cartridge, is available for the new fuel cap. The Reference provides the information to install the fuel cap filter kit.
