4. The decal (Form NEEG2171) is a torque/pressure conversion table which changes pressure to torque in both English and metric units. The decal is located on top of the lever arm guard.
(1) Red marks on frame (2) Yellow stripe on Lever Arm5. Red index marks (1) have been provided on the wrench frame and the lever arm has a yellow stripe (2) the length of the stroke. When the yellow stripe is within the red index marks, this indicates the end of the stroke has been reached.6. During the retracting stroke, the drive pins, when fully ratcheted, will drop into the next successive pockets with an audible click.Schematic Of 8T-9130 Hydraulic Wrench Use Of The 8T-9130 Hydraulic Wrench
1. Use the label "Caterpillar Service Tool" as an indicator to determine on which side of the wrench the square drive should be located.* The wrench is set for bolt loosening when the square drive and socket are located opposite the wrench side with the label "Caterpillar Service Tool".The highest pressure will be required to break loose the specific fastener. This pressure will occur at the beginning. With each additional stroke lower and lower pressure will be realized until the fastener is free. The wrench then can be removed and the fastener removed by another faster method.* For bolt tightening, the square drive and socket are positioned on the same side as the label "Caterpillar Service Tool".During tightening, each stroke will show a gradual increase in pump pressures. The strokes should continue until initial torque is reached and either one-third or one-half fastener turns are obtained. With each stroke pressure rises, then after each stroke, release the pump pressure and allow the cylinder to retract.
(1) 5P-8558 Pressure Gauge Calibration Group (2) Lever2. Use a calibrated 9S-2240 Gauge, and a 1P-2375 Coupler Assembly with a 3B-7722 Bushing and a 39514 Coupling to check the accuracy of the 9S-2240 Gauge on the 3S-6224 Hydraulic Pump. The 9S-2240 Gauge should be calibrated on the 5P-8558 Pressure Gauge Calibrating Group (1) and be used as a master checking gauge in the field. Recommended calibration range of the master gauge is 34450-55120 kPa (5000-8000 psi). Connect the master gauge to the high pressure hose on the 3S-6224 Hydraulic Pump. Record the pressure observed on the permanently mounted gauge when the calibrated gauge reads 55120 kPa (8000 psi).3. If the hydraulic pump has an outside pressure regulator, set the regulator so that the pressure is limited to 68900 kPa (10000 psi). This will permit the application of maximum torque from the hydraulic wrench to the fastener.4. Operate lever (2) and the pump control to permit the cylinder rod to be extended. Before the cylinder rod is fully extended, a sound (click) can be heard when the wrench is fully ratcheted and the drive pins drop into the next successive pockets. The yellow stripe will be seen within the red marks.5. Operate lever (2) and pump control to retract the cylinder rod. Again, a sound (click) can
