Information:
An improved 5P3000 Engine and Transmission Shipping Stand Assembly with stronger, more rigid supports is now available. A longer gusset is used on the four side supports to increase their strength. Also, an angle is used on the base of each side support to make them more rigid. With these improvements the supports will not bend or twist under the load of an engine or transmission.
Always use the proper tightening procedures when fastening a component to the stand. Failure to do so can cause possible damage to the component and/or to the stand assembly.
For those 5P3000 Engine and Transmission Stand Assemblies in the field, a modification can be made to add strength to the supports. Fabricate four (4) gussets as shown in Illustration 1. Fabricate four (4) angles as shown in Illustration 2. Weld the gussets and angles in place. This modification will add strength and make the supports more rigid. It has no effect on the use of the stand. Any component fastened to the stand assembly before the modification can still be fastened to the stand assembly after the modication is made.
