Remove & Install Vibration Damper & Pulley
1. Remove drive belt (1) from the engine.
When bolts (2) are removed, the vibration damper will come off the end of the crankshaft. To prevent possible personal injury, hold the vibration damper and pulley in position when bolts (2) are being removed.
2. While holding pulley (3) and vibration damper (4) in position, remove six bolts (2) and the washers. Use two people to remove pulley (3) and vibration damper (4). The combined weight of the pulley and vibration damper is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the vibration damper and pulley. 3. Position pulley (3) on vibration damper (4). Place a bolt through the top bolt hole in each component. With a second person, position the pulley and vibration damper on the end of crankshaft (5). The combined weight of the pulley and vibration damper is approximately 18 kg (40 lb). Install the washers and bolts (2) finger tight.4. Tighten bolts (2) evenly to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft)5. Install the drive belt on the engine.6. Using a dial indicator, check the face runout of the damper assembly. The maximum face runout should not be more than 2.032 mm (.0800 in).
