Information:

c. Keep the tops of rod ends (25) on the direction-speed link tilted to the rear as shown during the adjustment of the direction-speed link and while the locknuts are tightened. This will prevent an error in the adjustment of the direction-speed link. d. Turn direction-speed link (21) one direction until a small amount of movement is seen at one end of servo centering spring (5).e. Turn direction-speed link (21) in the opposite direction until a small amount of movement is seen at the other end of servo centering spring (5). Make a note of the number of turns needed.f. Turn the direction-speed link (21) back 1/2 the number of revolutions turned in Step (e), and tighten both locknuts at the rod ends. g. To check the adjustment, move forward-neutral-reverse lever (22) to the right and left between full speed stops (20), and look for the same amount of movement at both ends of servo centering spring (5). If no movement can be seen, tighten nut (18) on tooling (A) slowly until movement can be seen. Adjust direction-speed link (21) to get the same amount of movement at both ends of servo centering spring (5). To make this adjustment, it can be necessary to turn only one rod end a small amount at a time. If the result of the adjustment is that rod ends (25) are no longer tilted the same as shown in Step c, be sure direction-speed link (21) can turn enough to move freely when forward-neutral-reverse lever (22) is moved. Forward-neutral-reverse lever (22) can move through its full range only when the underspeed valve is pulled fully up. 9. Adjust both the right and left steer cams so that when the steering lever moves roller (28) through the cam there is no movement of the servo stem lever (29). Make this adjustment in the following way:a. Loosen bolts (27) just enough so left steer cam (2) can be moved.b. Use left hand steer link (26) to pull roller (28) forward and backward through the steer cam. While roller (28) is pulled forward and backward through the steer cam, turn steer cam (2) on its pivot pin until the forward and backward movement of the roller causes no movement of servo stem lever (29). A plastic hammer can be used to turn the steer cam a very small amount at a time. This will make the adjustment easier.c. Tighten bolts (27). Use the steer lever on the front of the case to move roller (28) forward and backward through steer cam (2), and check again for movement of servo stem lever (29).d. Use the same procedure to adjust right steer cam (3). 10. Put the left synch screw in the center of its adjustment range as follows:a. Pull roller (28) away from the end of the left steer cam as shown. Turn left synch screw (4) in or out until the length of threads (W) that extends through the cam is the same as gap
