Bucket Zero
The Zero function is used to adjust for changes in the empty bucket weight due to bucket wear or excess material stuck in the bucket. Perform bucket zero when the following conditions occur:
Prompted by the software
Not achieving desired accuracy
Ground Engagement Tool (GET) change
Material carryback change
On startupA zero is performed to improve the accuracy of the Cat® Production Measurement application.Zero Messages
Zero messages instruct the operator to perform a zero lift. The zero lift is performed to correct the following:
Changes to the material in the bucket
Changes in the hydraulic oil temperatureDetails for each message are shown below.Perform Zero - Zero Timer Expired
This message is displayed when the following conditions occur:
The machine has been running for more than 5 minutes and a zero has not been performed.
More than 4 hours have passed since a zero was performed.Perform Zero - Hydraulic Oil Temp Changed
This message will be displayed when the following conditions occur:
The system has detected a significant change in oil temperature.
The change occurred since the previous zero was performed.Zeroing an Empty Bucket
Zero an empty bucket under the following conditions:
When any of the above two messages are displayed on the screen
On startup
When carryback is occurring and cannot be removedPerform the following steps to zero an empty bucket:
Rack an empty bucket back.
Lift through the weigh range.

Verify that the weight is a scaled weight with a green box.

Press the Bucket Zero button (1).The Alert Message Area will report either:
Zero Accepted
Weight Too Heavy to ZeroThe magnitude of the weight zeroed can only be ≤ 15% of the calibration weight.
