Information:
1. Clean the outside diameter of all collets (1) and pins (2).2. Clean the bores for the collets and pins. The installation of the seals, collets, pins and bolts is the same for all joints.3. Install pins (6) and (8) so that they are in alignment with the dowels in the collets.4. Flanged collet (7) is installed on the inner bucket ear (Section E-E).5. When pins and collets are installed at bucket hinge point (Section E-E), remove bolts (5) and take off the spacer. Put the bolts back into their holes. Loosen bolts (4) and tighten bolts (5). Torque on bolts (5) must never be more than 540 N m (400 lb ft). After the pins and collets are installed, remove bolts (5) and tighten bolts (4). Put the spacers on bolts (5) and replace.Torque Procedure:
1. Be sure that the pins, collets and bores are clean and free of all oil and grease.2. Tighten the bolt (3) to 1800 200 N (1320 150 lb ft). After the nut and bolt are tightened, hit the collets on both sides until the torque for the nut and bolt is less than 950 N m (700 lb ft).3. Tighten the nut and bolt again until the torque is 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft). Hit each collet again until the torque on the nut and bolt are less than 1600 N m (1180 lb ft). Tighten the nut and bolt to a final torque of 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft)4. An optional method of installation can be used.5. Install the pins and collets as before. Press the collets on the pins with 507 000 N (114 000 lb) of force. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft). The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the nut and bolt are tight (final torque). Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the bolts and nuts before installation.
