PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR INSPECTING AND POSSIBLY REWORKING 0R-9250, 0R-3860, AND 0R-3233 REMAN SCAVENGE OIL PUMPS IN DEALER PARTS STOCK

When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.

PROBLEM
The reman scavenge oil pump gear cover bolts may have insufficient thread engagement on two of the four bolts.
ACTION REQUIRED
The affected parts are 0R-9250, 0R-3860, and 0R-3233 Reman Scavenge Oil Pumps in dealer parts stock that are China source only (Shanghai-PXC027). The affected date range is D01M01Y13PXC027 to D20M04Y13PXC027. Refer to Image 1 for an example label.
If a 0R-9250, 0R-3860, or 0R-3233 Reman Scavenge Oil Pump is in the affected date range, inspect the bolts in the pump.
Remove two bolts located on opposite corners of the gear cover housing, where the dowels are located as indicated by the bulge in casting. Refer to Image 2, and Image 3. If the bolt length is 1.5 inches, replace the bolt with a 0S-1587 Bolt that is 1.75 inches long. Tighten to 105 +/- 20 Nm.
Mark the package to indicate that the pump assembly has been inspected according to this program and return the pump assembly to dealer parts stock.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all pumps inspected, and/or reworked in dealer parts stock.0.25 hour will be allowed for each pump that is inspected, and/or reworked that is in the affected date range in dealer parts stock. Two 0S-1587 Bolts are allowed for each pump that is reworked in dealer parts stock.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
