Remove the storage box.
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Use Tooling (B) to clamp hose (3). Disconnect hose (3). Disconnect hose assembly (1). Disconnect harness assembly (2).

Use Tooling (B) to clamp hose (5). Disconnect hose (5). Remove cable strap (6). Disconnect clips (7) from both hoses.

Place a suitable container below hose (9). Open drain valve (8) in order to drain the diesel exhaust fluid module tank into the suitable container. The diesel exhaust fluid module tank holds approximately 19.2 L (5.06 US gal) of fluid. After the fluid has drained completely, disconnect the hose from the bottom of the tank. Install a suitable plug to prevent any residual fluid from leaking out.

Attach a suitable lifting device to diesel exhaust fluid module (11). The weight of diesel exhaust fluid module (11) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).
Remove bolts (12) and diesel exhaust fluid module (11). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid module (11) in the reverse order of removal.
Thoroughly clean the connection for hose assembly (1) prior to installation. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal (not shown) inside the connector for hose assembly (1).
