Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Place O-ring seals (15) in position on unit injector hydraulic pump drive (11).
Lightly lubricate the bore of the front housing and the seal on the unit injector hydraulic pump drive with clean engine oil.
Position unit injector hydraulic pump drive (11) on the front housing.

Install bottom bolts (13) in unit injector hydraulic pump drive (11).
Install mounting bolts (12). Tighten mounting bolts (12) to a torque of 5 3 N m (44 27 lb in).
Install pin (14) and the seal. Tighten pin (14) to a torque of 105 10 N m (77 7 lb ft).
Tighten mounting bolts (12) again to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft). Note: With the number one piston of the engine at top center, the timing marks on the front gear group can be aligned. Align the Timing Marks on gear (7) with the Timing Marks on the camshaft gear. The alignment of the Timing Marks is shown in Illustration 4.
Position gear (7) on the hydraulic pump drive. Install retainer plate (9) with bolts (8). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
Install timing sensors (10) in the front housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Speed/Timing Sensor - Remove and Install".

Install the O-ring seals and connect hose assemblies (4), (2), and (1).
Connect harness assemblies (6), (5), and (3). End By:
Install the front cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Front Cover - Install".
Install the unit injector hydraulic pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Unit Injector Hydraulic Pump - Install".
