197-9322     Cylinder Liner     1    The new one piece steel pistons are adaptable to all earlier 3408E and 3412E Machine Engines that have either 116-8152 Pistons (Aluminum) or 172-3280 Pistons (Aluminum). Although the steel pistons and the aluminum pistons can be mixed, it is not recommended. The piston cooling jets must be replaced with 173-0147 Piston Cooling Jets and 150-1156 Bolts for the piston cooling jets. Refer to Table 3 for the parts that are required to adapt earlier engines.Note: The piston cooling jets must be replaced if you change from aluminum pistons to steel pistons, or vice versa. Do not use the new 173-0147 Piston Cooling Jets with aluminum pistons.
