Disassembly and Assembly, G3612 and G3616 Engines, SENR5535-01, Page 134, "Remove & Install Rear Housing", Steps 7, 12, 13, and 14.The torque specification for the bolts that fasten the rear housing to the cylinder block and for the bolts that fasten the turbocharger support bracket to the rear housing have been increased. Formerly, the Standard Torque specification was used. This could allow the bolts to relax and loosen. The increased tightening torque will help keep the bolts tight. The Steps identified in the References should be changed as follows:
7. Remove bolts (7) that hold the rear housing in position. Remove the rear housing from the cylinder block. The weight of the rear housing is 448 Kg (985 lb) .12. Put the turbocharger support bracket in position on the rear housing and install the bolts that hold them in place. Tighten the bolts, that hold the turbocharger support bracket in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 370 50 N m (275 37 lb ft) .13. Tighten all 5/8 inch bolts (7) that hold the rear housing in place to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft) .14. Tighten all 1/2 inch bolts (4) and (6) that hold the rear housing in place to torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
