This code indicates that the engine has been derated in order to prevent excessive exhaust temperatures.The Engine Control Module (ECM) calculates the exhaust temperature from inputs from the following sensors:
Atmospheric pressure sensor
Inlet air temperature sensor
Engine speed/timing sensorSystem Response:This code will be logged once the engine has been derated by more than 8%. The engine will only be derated to a level that will allow the exhaust temperature to be lowered to an acceptable level. The check engine light will not be turned on for this event code.Possible Performance Effect:The ECM will derate the engine.Troubleshooting:Test Step 1. Talk to the OperatorNote: No repair to the engine is necessary.
