Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the flywheel housing.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (3) .
Remove Idler gear assembly (4) .
Remove bolt (1) and bracket (2) .Installation Procedure

B     456-7991     Idler Gear Positioning Gauge     1    
Install Idler gear assembly (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Use Tooling (B) to check and adjust the position of bracket (2) .
Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 23 2 N m (204 18 lb in)
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of bolts.
Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 30 3 N m (22 2 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (3) an additional 90° 5°.
