View From Under Machine1. Remove four bolts (1) and the washers that hold cover (2). Remove cover (2) from under the fuel tank.
View From Under Fuel Tank2. Open drain valve (3), and drain the fuel from the fuel tank. The capacity of the fuel tank is 522 liters (138 U.S. gal). Close the drain valve.3. Disconnect hose (4) from the bottom of the fuel tank. Remove hose (4) from the support clip.4. Remove four bolts (5) that hold the fuel tank to the frame of the machine.
View From Under Machine.5. Remove six bolts (6) and the washers that hold cover (7). Remove cover (7) from under the right front side of the machine. 6. Open the access door above the swing motor and drive. Remove fuel line (8) from the support clip, and disconnect the line from the back side of the fuel tank. 7. Put identification marks on the two wires of harness (9). Disconnect wire harness (9) from the fuel gauge sending unit. Remove wire harness (9) from the support clip. 8. Remove hand rail (10).
Do not damage the drain valve located on the bottom of the fuel tank when it is being removed from the machine.
9. Fasten a hoist to the lifting eyes on fuel tank (11). Remove the fuel tank. The empty weight of the fuel tank is 191 kg (420 lb).10. Put identification marks on the shim located under the fuel tank. Remove the shims from the frame of the machine. The following steps are for the installation of the fuel tank.11. Install the shims for the fuel tank in their original positions on the frame.
Do not damage the drain valve located on the bottom of the fuel tank when it is being installed on the machine.
12. Fasten a hoist to fuel tank (11), and put it in position on the frame of the machine. Install four bolts (5) that hold the fuel tank in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 180 20 N m (135 15 lb ft).13. Put hose (4) in the support clip, and connect the hose to the bottom of the fuel tank. Be sure drain valve (3) on the bottom of the fuel tank is closed.14. Reinstall cover (2) under the fuel tank.15. Reinstall hand rail (10).16. Put wire harness (9) in the support clip. Connect the wire harness to the fuel gauge sending unit. Be sure the wires are reinstalled in their original locations.17. Put fuel line (8) in the support clip, and connect the line to the back side of the fuel tank.18. Reinstall cover (7) under the right front side of the machine.
