Replace the Return Filter

Park the machine on level ground. Lower the bucket to the ground with the stick in a vertical position.

Remove bolts (1), washers (2) and access cover (3) from the top of the hydraulic tank.

Clean the area thoroughly in order to keep dirt out of the return filter cover and the pressure cap.
Relieve the internal pressure from the hydraulic tank by loosening the pressure cap. After the pressure is relieved, remove the pressure cap.

Remove bolts (4), washers (5) and access cover (6) .
Remove spring (7), valve (8) and element (9) from the tank.
Inspect O-ring seal (10). Replace the O-ring seal if wear or damage is evident.
Perform Steps 5 and 6 in reverse order for installation.
Clean the pressure cap and install the pressure cap.
Install access cover (6). Install bolts (4) and washers (5) .Replace the Pilot Filter
Open the service door at right side of machine.

Clean the area around the filter in order to keep dirt out of the filter base.
Remove the used pilot filter element from the filter base.Note: This element is a cartridge type filter. The element cannot be reused.Note: Used filters should always be disposed of according to local regulations.
Clean the filter base.

Coat the seal of the new pilot filter with clean hydraulic oil. Install the new pilot filter in the filter base. Tighten the pilot filter hand tight.
Drive the machine slowly for 10 minutes to 15 minutes. Move each cylinder evenly through several cycles.

Return the machine to the service position. Check the machine for oil leaks.
Stop the engine.

(A) High temperature range (B) Low temperature range
Maintain the oil level in low temperature range (B) for a cold machine. Maintain the oil level in high temperature range (A) for a machine that is at a normal operating temperature.
Slowly loosen the pressure cap in order to relieve any pressure. Remove the pressure cap in order to add oil, if necessary.
Clean the pressure cap and install the pressure cap.
Close the service door at right side of machine.
