On 1October 2002, the FLS/FTS PAR Dyno Calculator will be available as a web based application. Access to the web site requires an ID and a Password from Corporate Web Security (CWS). To use this software, go to the web site and follow the instructions in order to establish a new account.The new FLS/FTS PAR Dyno Calculator web site can be accessed at the following address:http://pardyno.cat.com
This is a change to the information that was communicated in the June 2002 issue of the PAR Gram publication. The PAR Gram stated that the tool would be eliminated. Due to feedback that has been received from the dealers and the customers, this decision was overturned. Access to this application has been reviewed and dealership accounts without current PAR Dyno certification have been removed.Note: Previously, warranty coverage was applied to any engine that was more than 1.5% below the nominal fuel rate. New rules for warranty coverage will become effective 1October 2002. Warranty coverage will only be applied to engines that have test results that fall outside the performance specifications for the engine. Further changes to the software for the new FLS/FTS PAR Dyno Calculator will be initiated during the first quarter 2003. These changes will ensure that Caterpillar is able to provide tools that will support customer service. The changes will also allow the tool to be monitored for potential abuse. Details about the changes will be provided prior to the implementation.
