If rerouting of 369-1863 Cable As (3) is required, begin by extending the left-hand steering console fully forward. Route the cable (3) through the adjuster as shown in Illustration 12. Ensure that all excess cable is pulled at the location of the arrow in Illustration 12. Secure cable (3) with 7K-1181 Cable Strap (4) as shown in Illustration 12. Ensure that the cable is not kinked and operates smoothly.

Route 369-1863 Cable As (3) through the adjuster and secure cable with two 7K-1181 Cable Strap (4) next to each other between two bosses. Refer to Illustration 13 and Illustration 14.Ensure 369-1863 Cable As (3) is routed so that it does not touch rear portion of the cover and cable ends are located at the bottom of the adjuster. Ensure cable assembly (3) is not kinked and operates smoothly.Note: If using a Panduit tool to secure the 7K-1181 Cable Strap, use the low setting on the Panduit tool. The tool should read STD level 4 on the dial on the side of the handle.

At the front of the left-hand steering console, route 369-1863 Cable As (3) between the joystick and the bracket. Refer to Illustration 15.Do not route the 369-1863 Cable As between the cover and the outside of the bracket.

Reinstall the right hand 285-7989 Cover As. Refer to Illustration 16. Ensure to pull 369-1863 Cable As (3) through the hole. The cable assembly should sit freely along the top of the left-hand steering console.Install three previously removed 9X-2043 Screws. Tighten 9X-2043 Screws on the 302-8247 Cover to 6 1 N m (53 9 lb in).Install three previously removed 9X-2043 Screws on the bottom of the covers.

Insert and secure the die cast barrel of 369-1863 Cable As into 367-5533 Lever As (5). Slide the die cast barrel fully into the round slot of the cable catch on the lever. Refer to Illustration 17.

Pull up on the release lever and snap the snub end coupling on the cable assembly into the center (middle) slot on the lever assembly. If properly assembled, the cable should not contact the lever assembly when the lever is activated. Refer to Illustration 18.Note: Do not kink the cable during installation.

Install 367-5533 Lever As (5) to the cover assembly and secure with two 137-6723 Flat Head Screws (E). Tighten flat head screws (E) to 0.9 0.2 N m (8.0 1.8 lb in).Note: Ensure that the cable is not kinked and operates smoothly.
Ensure the left-hand steering console releases and locks properly.
Reassemble the remaining covers and components using the saved hardware.
