Assembly Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
When replacement parts are required for this product, Caterpillar recommends using Cat replacement parts or parts with equivalent specifications including, but not limited to, physical dimensions, type, strength, and material.Never reuse any clamps, seals, or gaskets in the flameproof intake or exhaust system. Always replace clamps, seals, and gaskets with new Cat parts which match the parts being replaced by the exact Cat part number.Failure to heed this warning may lead to premature failures, product damage, personal injury, or death.

If necessary, install flame arrestor (10) in aftercooler housing (4).
Install the O-ring seal and drain valve group (9).
Install spacers (8) and O-ring seals (3).
Position inlet bonnet (7) and bonnet (2). Install bolts (1).
Install O-ring seals (3) on aftercooler cores (5). Carefully install aftercooler cores (5) in aftercooler housing (4).
Install O-ring seals (3).
Install bonnet (6) and bolts (1). End By:
Install the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Install".
