AllReferenceSpecial Instruction, REHS2368, "Installation Procedure for Product Link PL522 China (Cellular)"New Software is now available for all Cat® products with the Product Link 522 China system. The new software contains the following improvement for the 376-4616 Communication Electronic Control Module (PL522 China) system:
Addressed issue where Engine OFF/ON status changes every few seconds on machines where Product Link is using R-Term to determine engine operation.Note: To obtain the full benefit of the improvement, both the radio and the gateway software must be flashed. It is important to submit a field support case to have the Radio flashed over the air after the Gateway software has been downloaded and installed.The new software part number is listed in the Table 1.

(A) Prior to service trip, launch SIS Web and ensure that the new flash file part number is the latest flash file part number. A newer flash file part number may be available.Note: Additional information, including a list of Product Link flash files, can be found at the "Service Technician's Toolbox" web page found on dealer.cat.com. (B) Before using Communications Adapter 3 (CA3), make sure that the PC drivers and CA3 firmware have been updated.CA3 news, drivers, and firmware are available at:https://dealer.cat.com
(C) The new software is flashed onto the module using WinFlash. Always use the latest version of Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) for the optimal machine software support. In Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET Service Tool), the ECM this software is loaded into the "VIMS Main Module". In "WinFlash" this ECM is called "Communication Gateway #1" or "Gateway #1".
