Separate the tracks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Use Tool (A) to remove the oil from the track roller frame.

Remove the bolts that hold retainers (1) on each side of the roller frame.
Install two 1/2 inch - 13 NC forcing screws in retainers (1). Tighten the forcing screws evenly. Remove the retainers from the roller frame.

Fasten a hoist and Tooling (B) to front track roller frame (2). Use Tooling (B) to support the weight of roller frame (2) .
Fasten Tooling (C) to the front track roller frame and a stationary object, as shown.
Use Tooling (C) to pull front track roller frame (2) partially out of the rear track roller frame.

Cut Tool (D) in order to make a tight fit inside the seal assembly.
Put Tool (D) in position in order to protect the seal assembly. Remove front track roller frame (2) from the rear track roller frame. The weight of front track roller frame is 251 kg (554.0 lb).
If necessary, remove sleeve (3) from the track roller frame.

Remove seal assembly (6), ring (5), and bearing (4) from the rear track roller frame.
