For more information on the damper, refer to the Engine News that is referenced above.Adaptable To: The new crankshaft has one hole that supplies engine oil to the new damper and another hole for the return of the engine oil from the damper. The holes are drilled into the front of the crankshaft. The engine oil is required for the 319-8494 Damper Gp in order to provide proper vibration dampening.The 245-1336 Crankshaft is cancelled and replaced by the 315-1391 Crankshaft. When the former 245-1336 Crankshaft is replaced by the new 315-1391 Crankshaft, some special instructions must be followed.If any of the dampers that are listed in Table 1 are used, the oil supply hole and the oil return hole in the 315-1391 Crankshaft must be plugged with two 323-3617 O-Ring Plugs and two 3J-7354 O-Ring Seals .Note: For the dampers that are listed in Table 1, the oil supply hole and the oil return hole in the 315-1391 Crankshaft must be plugged or a significant oil leak will occur.
