PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
The muffler exhaust outlet needs to be measured to ensure it is 160 mm (6 inches) or less. Use the following rework instructions to complete the procedure.
1. Remove the four 8T-4139 Bolts that secure the 255-2891 Exhaust Pipe Extension from the engine hood assembly.

2. Measure the exhaust outlet from the highest point on the muffler assembly as shown in Image 1.2.1. If the exhaust outlet is greater than 160 mm, proceed to Step 3. If the exhaust outlet is less than 160 mm, proceed to Step 5.

3. Measure up from the top of the muffler body and mark the exhaust outlet at 152 +0/-5 mm (6 +0/-0.2 inches) as shown in Image 1.3.1. Mark the exhaust tube to ensure a straight cut.

4. Cut and remove the excess length of the muffler exhaust outlet. Use tools as shown in Image 1.4.1 and Image 1.4.2.

5. Reinstall the 255-2891 Exhaust Pipe Extension (1) to the engine hood assembly with the four 8T-4139 Bolts (2) and the four 8T-4223 Washers (3) that were previously remove. Tightening torque of the Bolt is 100 +/- 20 Nm.
