Illustration 1 g02212473 (1) Lubricate the contacting surfaces of the seal. Use the lubricant to be used in the power train. (2) Rubber toric seals, and all contacting surfaces must be clean and dry prior to assembly. Smear a thin film of oil onto the contacting surfaces of the metal seals just before installation. The seal rings must be assembled square with the bore. Do not twist the rubber toric rings. (3) Tighten the 8 bolts to a torque of 60 12 N m (44 9 lb ft), then turn the bolts an extra turn of 120° 10°. (4) Tighten the 20 bolts to a torque of 180 20 N m (135 15 lb ft), then turn the bolts an extra turn of 60° 10°. (5) Torque for the plug 210 20 N m (155 15 lb ft)Note: Lubricate the contacting surfaces of the seal with lubricant being sealed.For the procedure to install the bearings, refer to Disassembly and Assembly.
