Schematic for the Position Sensor (Left Brake Pedal)This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM records a signal from the position sensor for the left brake pedal that is out of calibration. The rotary position sensor is a PWM sensor. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
New power train software was flashed.
The power train ECM has failed.
Check The Calibration.
Calibrate the position sensor. Ensure that no other CID 1327 codes are active. Clear any CID 1327 FMI 03 code or any CID 1327 FMI 04 code before calibration. For more information about calibration of the position sensor, refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Position Sensor (Left Brake Pedal) - Calibrate" for the machine that is being serviced.
Ensure that the diagnostic code is active.
Observe the ON/OFF status of the diagnostic code indicator as the calibration of the left brake pedal is completed.Expected Result: The diagnostic code indicator is inactive.Result:
YES - The diagnostic code indicator is inactive. The diagnostic code is inactive now. Calibration corrected the diagnostic code. Clear the diagnostic code.
NO - The diagnostic code indicator is active. The diagnostic code remains active. It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Perform calibration for the position sensor again. Also, ensure that the diagnostic code indicator is active for this diagnostic code. If the cause is not found, replace the sensor and perform the calibration again. If this does not eliminate the diagnostic code, replace the ECM. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (Power Train) - Replace".
