Schematic of the body up indicator
Test Step 1. CHECK +BATTERY SUPPLY
Turn the key start switch and the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the body up indicator.
Turn the battery disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
At the machine harness connector for the body up indicator, check for +battery supply at connector contact 2 (wire 113-OR(Orange)) to frame ground. Expected Result:The voltage should be +battery supply at wire 113-OR(Orange).Results:
YES - The voltage is +battery supply at wire 113-OR(Orange). Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The voltage is below +battery supply. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE HARNESS FOR A SHORT TO FRAME GROUND
Turn the key start switch and the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the circuit breaker panel.
At the machine harness connector for the indicator, measure the resistance from wire 113-OR(Orange) to all possible sources of frame ground. Expected Result:The resistance for each measurement should be greater than 5 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The machine harness has failed.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE HARNESS FOR AN OPEN
Turn the battery disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
The machine harness connector for the body up indicator remains disconnected.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the Power Train/Chassis ECM.
At the machine harness connector J2 measure the resistance from connector contact J2-20 (wire H430-PU(Purple)) of the ECM to connector contact 4 (wire H430-PU(Purple)) of the indicator. Expected Result:The measured resistance is less than 5 ohms. Results:
YES - The measured resistance is less than 5 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NO - The measured resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The machine harness has failed.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 4. TEST THE LAMP PANEL
Reconnect the machine harness connector for the body up indicator.
Turn the battery disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
At the machine harness connector J2, place a jumper wire from connector contact J2-20 (wire H430-PU(Purple)) to frame ground. Expected Result:The status of the indicator is on and the status of the indicator is off as the jumper wire is installed and the jumper wire is removed. Results:
YES - The indicator is on when the jumper wire is grounded. Proceed to Test Step 5.
NO - The indicator is off when the jumper wire is grounded. The side warning lamp indicator panel has failed.Repair: Remove and replace the side warning lamp panel.STOPTest Step 5. CHECK IF THE PROBLEM REMAINS
Inspect the contacts of the harness connectors and clean the harness connectors.
Reconnect all the harness connectors.
Turn the battery disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Operate the machine.
Check to see if the fault still occurs. Expected Result:The fault is present. Results:
YES - The fault is present. The fault has not
