PROBLEM
The existing steering piston accumulators are failing to keep pressure due to leaking seals on certain 793D and 793F Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing accumulators fail to keep pressure it can reduce function of backup steering.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to KENR8579, Disassembly and Assembly, for 793F Off-Highway Truck and RENR8332, Disassembly and Assembly, for the 793D Off-Highway Truck. Refer to the machines disassembly and assembly for the instructions to remove and install, and disassemble and assemble the steering accumulators. The 388-2174 Piston Kit includes both a piston and a new set of seals which are not compatible with the previous non-serviceable piston due to changes in the seal groove geometry. This new piston will then be serviceable by the 379-0215 Seal Kit.
