Auxiliary Outputs
The P1 connector has six terminals that can be used to control devices on the vehicle. The terminals are called "Auxiliary Outputs". Each terminal can be programmed to control one device from a list of devices. The terminals must be programmed to match the configuration of the vehicle.The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the current flow through the terminals. The ECM sets a code if the current flow is too low or the current flow is too high. The codes are displayed as "Auxiliary Output" diagnostic codes on the active diagnostic code screen. Table 1 provides information about the codes.

2647-5     The most likely cause of these codes is incorrect programming of the ECM. If the output is programmed correctly, one of the following conditions exists:
There is an open circuit in the vehicle wiring.
There is an open circuit in the device.

2647-6     The most likely cause of these codes is a short circuit in the vehicle wiring. If the wiring is OK, there is a problem with the device.    
Follow the troubleshooting procedure in order to determine the root cause of the problem.    Troubleshooting Procedure

Terminals that relate to the auxiliary outputs
Refer to Illustration 1. Inspect the P1 connector. Determine if a device is connected to the terminal that relates to the code.Note: A wire may be connected to a terminal of the P1 connector, but the wire may not be connected to a device. Refer to a schematic for the vehicle wiring in order to determine the actual configuration of the wiring.If a device is not connected to the terminal, the programming is incorrect. Use Cat ET to determine the programming of each device that is listed in Table 3. The devices are in the "Output Selections" group or the "Engine Monitoring Lamps" group. Determine the device that is incorrectly programmed to the terminal. Program the device to "None" in order to clear the code.If a device is connected to the terminal, there is a problem with the circuit. Use Cat ET to determine the programming of each device that is listed in Table 3. The devices are in the "Output Selections" group or the "Engine Monitoring Lamps" group. Determine the device that is programmed to the terminal that relates to the code. Refer to the appropriate troubleshooting procedure in order to troubleshoot the code.
