Manifold (2) will direct oil into two systems. The first system is the braking system. The braking system has priority over the fan system, but the fan will not completely shut off. When the oil requirements for the braking system have been met, manifold (2) will direct oil to the fan system. Oil will flow from manifold (2) to fan motor (8). Pressurized oil will flow through the motor which will cause the fan to rotate. Oil that leaves motor (8) will flow through the thermal bypass valve until the oil temperature reaches 71.1° C (160° F). When the oil temperature reaches 71.1° C (160° F) the thermal bypass valve (6) will begin to close causing oil to circluate through oil cooler (5) . Cooler (5) will cool the hydraulic oil. The hydraulic fan system is equipped with temperature sensor (7). Temperature sensor (7) is located prior to the drain line (4) for the all wheel drive motors, if your machine is so equipped. If your machine is not equipped with all wheel drive, the sensor is located between the oil cooler (5) and the fan motor (8). The Electronic Control Module (ECM) will use the signal from sensor (7) to monitor system temperature. Oil will flow from cooler (5) to oil filter (3). Filter (3) will remove debris from the oil. Oil will flow from filter (3) into hydraulic tank (1).
