Connect the communications adapter and the computer to the ECM data link, using the diagnostic service tool connector .

Start Cat® ET.
If necessary select the transmission ECM. At the top menu of Cat® ET"File " > "Select ECM" . Choose the "Transmission ECM".
On the top menu, click "Service " > "Configuration". Data from the transmission ECM will be loaded onto the configuration screen. Descriptions of certain operations or characteristics will be listed along with the parameter values. Certain parameters can be changed for different applications or preferences.Configurable Parameters
For Petroleum Transmissions, refer to Special Instruction, REHS4541, "Software Configuration Guide" to obtain the specific transmission parameters that can be configured. Special Instruction, REHS4541 lists the parameter descriptions and values for each type of petroleum transmission application.For On-Highway Transmissions, refer to Special Instruction, REHS2884, "Electrical Application and Installation Guide for the CX28, CX31, and CX35 On-Highway Transmissions" to obtain the specific transmission parameters that can be configured.
Select the "Configuration Group 2" from the "Configuration" menu.
Highlight the "Transmission Config" on the right. Then click the "Change" button that is near the bottom of the CAT® ET screen.
The "Change Parameter Value" box will appear.
Click "Yes" to accept the change of the parameter.Note: Cycling the key may be required for the changes to take effect.
