Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Use Tooling (A) to install seals (9), if necessary. Ensure that the lip of the seal is toward the inside of the housing.

If the water temperature regulator is installed incorrectly, it will cause the engine to overheat.
Install water temperature regulators (8) with the spring upward.

Install a new gasket and position water temperature regulator housing (6) on the engine. Install bolts (7).

Install the gasket and install bolts (5) that fasten pipe (4) to water temperature regulator housing (6).
Install O-ring seals on the tube. Position the gasket on water temperature regulator housing (6).
Install elbow (1). Install bolts (2) on elbow (1).
Install the retainers and bolts (3) that fasten the tube to elbow (2).
Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
