Follow Step 1.a through Step 1.f in order to remove harness assembly (5) for electronic unit injectors (2).
Use a deep socket to remove connections (1) from electronic unit injectors (2).
Cut cable strap (3). Remove the remaining sections of the cable strap from valve mechanism cover base (4).
Disconnect harness assembly (7) from harness assembly (5).
Use Tooling (A) to remove circlip (6) from harness assembly (5).
Withdraw harness assembly (5) from valve mechanism cover base (4).
Remove O-ring seal (8) from harness assembly (5).

Loosen bolts (9) in reverse numerical order. Refer to illustration 3. Loosening the bolts in the reverse numerical will help prevent distortion of valve mechanism cover base (4).
Remove bolts (9) from valve mechanism cover base (4).
Remove valve mechanism cover base (4) from the cylinder head.
Remove gasket (10). Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Clean the valve mechanism cover base and the cylinder head. Ensure that the gasket surfaces are free from damage.

Install Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) into Position (X) on the cylinder head.
Align a new gasket (10) with Tooling (B) and Tooling (C). Install the gasket onto the cylinder head. Ensure that the gasket is correctly orientated.
Position valve mechanism cover base (4) on the cylinder head.
Install bolts (9) to valve mechanism cover base (4) finger tight.
Remove Tooling (B) and Tooling (C). Install the remaining bolts (9) to valve mechanism cover base (4).
Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 25 N m (221.27 lb in) in the sequence that is shown in illustration 6.

If necessary, install the harness assemblies for the electronic unit injectors. Follow Step 8.a through Step 8.hin order to install the harness assemblies for the electronic unit injectors.
Ensure that harness assembly (5) and the bore in valve mechanism cover base (4) are clean and free from damage. Replace any damaged components.
Install the new O-ring seal (8) onto harness assembly (5).
From the inside of valve mechanism cover base (4), push harness assembly (5) into valve mechanism cover base (4).
Ensure that the connection in Position (Y) on harness assembly (5) is installed in the vertical plane.
Use Tooling (A) to install circlip (6).
Connect harness assembly (7) to harness assembly (5).
Use a deep socket to connect harness (5) to electronic unit injectors (2). Use Tooling (D) to tighten connectors (1) to a torque of 2.4 N m (21 lb in).
Install a new cable strap (3) to harness assembly (5). Note: Ensure that the cable strap meets the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) specification.
Repeat Step 8.a through Step 8.h in order to replace the remaining harness assemblies (5). End By:
Install new fuel injection lines. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Injection Lines - Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly
